Surprise! Surprise!
I'm a big fan of Marvel Comics' Avengers.
Because it's a team book, I get to play favorites.
And here are two of them.

IRON MAN

So far, he's the only Avenger who is a Founding Avenger, a West Coast Avenger, a New Avenger and a Mighty Avenger.
Not to mention being one of the Big 3.

Sorry, Alec, but between him and Cap, I'd go with the tin man anytime. Although, admittedly he's kinda a jerk right now.

Oh well.

SPIDER-WOMAN

Of all the Post-Disassembled Avengers, I strongly believe that only Spider-Woman would have fit in perfectly with the old guard.

Then again, if she had joined during the classic years, the new breed wouldn't have a strong, popular female character.

She's probably the only thing that Bendis has done right during his run IMHO. He made her such an interesting and pivotal character.

She's a Founding New Avenger, a New Avenger and a Mighty Avenger.
